Making milkshakes out of fruit is a great way of combining a treat with the goodness of fruit. Strawberry milkshake is my favourite.
Make with either homegrown or shop bought strawberries, whether fresh or frozen.
Strawberry milkshake can be a good way of using up strawberries less presentable for serving fresh.

Great for children, and adults too, a strawberry milkshake provides the goodness of strawberries with a delicious tasting and refreshing drink. A strawberry milkshake contains about the same amount of strawberries per person as a normal serving of fresh strawberries.
The recipe uses only three ingredients: strawberries, milk, and a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream.
All the ingredients are added together to a smoothie maker, blender, or chopper. Give the mixture a short blast. Check for lumps and blast again if needed.
When you are happy with the consistency it is ready for serving.
I think the milkshake tastes best when drunk through a straw and freshly prepared, although it will store it in the fridge. Ideal for hot summer days or simply as treat.
