How To Make Jam
A step by step guide on how to make jam. Includes an introduction to jam making principles, cooking equipment, and a selection of jam recipes with videos.
Strawberry & Redcurrant Jam
Strawberries make delicious jam, but the challenge is that it can be difficult to set. Strawberry and redcurrant jam is the solution, as yummy redcurrants are high in jam setting pectin. A simple and delicious solution!
White Currant Jam
White currant jam sets easily and tastes indulgently sweet. The jam has a reddish colour, and is a great way of enjoying a bumper white currant harvest (or redcurrants & blackcurrants).
This recipe for chocolate truffles is easy to make, involving little more than melting chocolate and rolling it into balls. However, you will need to work quickly as the chocolate soon hardens!
Making gingerbread figures is a great way of starting the holidays or preparing for a party. This recipe creates a sweet mildly spiced gingerbread decorated with white chocolate and smarties.
Chocolate brownies are an indulgent, rich, moist, chocolatey treat that are straightforward to make and store well. A high energy snack for hard working people!
Hazelnut & Chocolate Cookies
These hazelnut and chocolate chip cookies are very good indeed. The chocolate chips are soft and contrast with the crunchiness of the hazelnut, whilst the cookie dough is not too sweet, but sweet enough!
Flapjacks are one of my favourite treats. This recipe uses honey, sunflower seeds hazelnuts, and dried cranberries to create a flapjack that is nutritious as well as full of energy. The recipe also includes flour to prevent the flapjacks being too crumbly.
Chocolate and bananas seem made for each other. Heating a banana in an oven, or the barbecue, turns the flesh soft and sweet. Adding chocolate to the heart of the banana doubles the sweetness. A perfect partnership!
